Countertops and Vanities are very important to upkeep if they are stone – some more often than others. The density of the stone is the biggest factor, as they have less chance of absorbing hard water and staining agents. Etch marks are very common on kitchen counters, even on some granite, as harsh acids can cause dulling. Prolonged use of light acids can also cause the same effect over a longer period of time. In most cases, vanities and countertops can be completely restored using a deep cleanser and polishing. Deep scratches and etches will often need diamond polishing to insure full removal.
Stone floors can be a beautiful addition to any home. Caring for them can be a nightmare though! Proper cleaning and maintenance is key to a long lasting, brilliant stone floor.
